Loss of Sense

Here's this week's Friday question! (I get these from a little book titled If... in case you're wondering where I come up with these crazy questions.)

If you had to lose one of your five senses, which would you give up?

I'd say smell, because I don't have a very sensitive nose anyway, but if you lose your sense of smell completely, you lose your sense of taste, and that would be unacceptable for me! I'm going to say hearing. I could still communicate through sign language and in writing, and I'd still get to see everything in God's beautiful world. It's kind of surprising since I'm more of a verbal than a visual person, but there are different ways to use words.

  2. Oh oh, I like Lizzy's, can I use it? I can't lose my sense of humor, no one would like me anymore...but I guess smell would do it for me...wow, that's a hard one...

  5. Sandy and Lizzy cracked me up...I am with you though Allison - I think I would have to go with hearing. I need to feel, see and smell and taste - I am selfish that way. though If I couldn't taste anything I pry wouldn't eat much and my risk for gaining weight would reduce!

  6. This is a tough one but I think I'd pick smell. I love to read and am not convinced I could learn braille. I love music and would hate to loose that pleasure. Love to cook, so that's an obvious one. Yes, smell it is!

BTW, book giveaway going on now on my blog.

  7. I'm not sure which sense I would choose. I might have known earlier but I was just over at a very wonderful woman's blog who is deaf. She was angry. She enlightened me. I couldn't choose, not honestly. (Indigo Raven's blog, if you are to have a look, it's her second last post that got me. You can see her commenting at my place and link through if you'd like.)

  8. I would choose smell. My dad lost his sense of smell & he can taste a little bit, especially strong tastes. It seems the least debilitating of the five.

  9. I would lose hearing, too. I'd miss music terribly, but everything else seems more horrible.
