What's in a Name?

Poor little blog, I've neglected you this week. I was too busy at the beginning of the week, and for the past three days, I've felt too yucky. I don't think a post about my sinus pain is going to make interesting reading. But here I am with my Friday question.

If you could have chosen your own first name, other than your current one, what would it be?

I've always liked the name Kate. I don't know if it fits me or not, but I like it.

What about you?

  1. There's a joke in our family that my Dad wanted to call one or all of his kids "Basil", either because of Basil Brush or Basil Fawlty. He just liked to surprise people who were nosy about what the baby will be called!

So I always think of myself as a possible Basil. Even though I'm a chick...

  2. Ava.

    No question.

And, since I don't have a girl, the blog is called Ava.

Tiffany is okay.. a bit stripper-esque, but it could be worse.

  3. I kind of like my name. I mean for the most part. I mean practically noone spells it right, those that do always crack a joke about the Earth and those that don't always reference Gone with the Wind...who could ask for anything more (ARGH)

  4. I've always felt more like an Emily than a Tiffany. I just thinks it fits my personality more. Not sure why, but there it is...

  5. For a while when I was a kid, I wanted to be Tracy... not sure why. I guess it seemed "cool" in the 80's.

  6. I changed my name, so I have my wish name, Kellyn.

Easy when you are 1 od 12 Kelly's in 4 classes. lol

  7. I've always thought that Rebecca suited me completely, but I've also always thought that I could easily be a Charlotte. Of course, my husband HATES Charlotte, so that wouldn't have worked.

  10. As I child I always chose the name Ashley when I played house or school. (Because of Ashley Abbott on my mom's soap Y&R). I love my name Julie very much. If I had to pick a new name at this point in my life it would be Allison or Paige. I don't know why.. I just like those names.

  11. When I was a kid, I wanted to be Sabrina or Sandra [so clearly I was okay with an S name, just not the one I had].

Now I really like my name, especially since it means "crowned one." I work it. :D

  12. I like vowel names. Maybe Emma. Not such a stretch from Erin, eh?
